Your Personal Interview (Senior and Assistant Staff only)
Before we go any further... Cali-Camp is proud to be a drug-free environment.
All staff will be drug-alcohol tested during Staff Training. Refusal to take the drug test will constitute a positive result
and immediate termination. (Cali-Camp policy on drugs and alcohol - excerpt from Staff Manual below for more information).
If this is no problem for you please read further, otherwise please apply elsewhere!
Our interviewing process helps us to select the most compatible, creative,
enthusiastic, knowledgeable, skilled and fun-loving staff to create
perfect summers for our campers.
We’ll schedule either a face-to-face or phone interview (or
both). Be prepared to interact and discuss problem solving in a day
camp situation. Problems will center around basic camp skills, counselor
/camper relations and staff relations.
You will be evaluated on your constructive and pertinent comments
as they relate to the problems discussed, understanding of camp life,
mental approach, tactfulness, compassion, common sense and organizational
abilities. Part of the evaluation will be based upon information provided
by you on your application, biographical sketch and personal references.
Our interview is designed to get to know you on a personal level.
Philosophy, personality, leadership and organizational skills plus other
qualities indicative of excellent camp staff members (we call them "SUPER
STAFF") are being sought. Basic job responsibilities and salary
are discussed at this time. Upon completion of our reference evaluation,
a position offer may follow.
