Camper Accommodations
At Cali Camp, we are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to make Cali Camp as accessible as possible to all. This applies to both children and staff with diagnosed disabilities and physical limitations.
We recognize that Cali Camp sits on a property that has uneven ground, steep hills, and some areas of campus only accessible via stairs. If you have concerns regarding your camper physically navigating the grounds, please contact the office to discuss their individual needs.
Your camper may have physical, mental or social diagnosed disabilities that require accommodations or assistance at school/home that might be necessary in the camp environment. If so, please contact the office and request to fill out an accommodations questionnaire so we can determine together if Cali Camp is the right fit for your family.
We often compare the camp environment to an amusement or theme park full of lots of people, fun sounds and singing, silly games and costumes. This can be overwhelming for some children.
If you are wondering if Cali Camp is the right fit for your camper, please call the office so we can work together as a team to determine if camp is the right place for your child to thrive.
ACCOMMODATION Faqs
-
The honest answer is that we do not know if Cali Camp will be the right fit for your camper. Cali Camp is not specifically designed for neurodivergent children, or campers with extra needs. With that said, we pride ourselves on creating an environment where (most) campers have a successful, fun and growth experience here at camp when given the proper tools to do so. We often compare the camp environment to an amusement or theme park full of lots of people, fun sounds and singing, silly games and costumes. This can be overwhelming to some children. We are happy to discuss any specific questions or concerns that you may have for your particular family to decide together if Cali Camp would be a good fit for your camper.

Every camper is unique so you’ll find what works best for your family. Our suggestions include
Attend an Open House. At an open house you are able to visit the campus, try different activities, meet some of the staff and get an overall feel of camp in a more calm atmosphere before camp starts.
Watch videos of our camp on our social media with your camper so they can get a sense of what a day at camp looks like.
If your camper has never been to a theme park, or somewhere with loud voices, high energy and crowds you might want to start visiting such places as practice for camp.
-
We ask every family during the registration process if your camper will be participating in our accomodation program. This is meant for campers who have physical, mental or social diagnosed disabilities that require accommodations or assistance at school/home that might be necessary in the camp environment.
If you indicate that yes, this does match your child, we will send you an accomodation form (or you can click above) to fill out so that our accommodations team can review the information and call to discuss your camper more in depth prior to your first day of camp.
-
If your camper utilizes a one-on-one support person or shadow during the school year, then it’s possible that they would benefit from having one attend camp with them. Cali Camp does not employ shadows, and each family is required to provide their own shadow. Please be sure to read about our FAQ outlining requirements for shadows.

Families who are utilizing a third party source for payments have three options for payments:
You can pay for camp yourself, and get reimbursed by your agency if applicable. Check with your agency to ensure they allow for personal reimbursement.
You can have your agency provide payment at the time of signup. We accept both Credit Cards and E-Checks.
Until May 1st, we will give families a 2-week payment grace period to send payment. After two weeks, your spot will be released.
If you are requesting the 2-week grace period for third-party payment, please indicate this on the billing notes section of the application PRIOR to submitting your application. Not doing so will result in your credit card being charged.
-
We suggest starting the application and not submitting it. The final page of your application before submission shows an itemized bill which you can use for approval. Once payment is ready to be made, you can log back in and complete your saved registration.
Once you decide to submit the application, until May 1st, we will allow for a 2-week grace period to send in your payment. After two weeks, your spot will be released.
